Nursery

A word from Mel and Pam

At St. Aidan's Nursery we offer full-time and part-time places.

We are in a small building detached from the main school. We work in partnership with all families to enable children to feel valued, safe and secure. We encourage them to become independent learners by setting them challenging and exciting activities related to their interests.

Every day activities are set up both inside and out, children are free to choose where they would like to work. Some of the topics that have supported the children in their learning have been "Food" where children have had lots of opportunities to cook and try out foods from countries other than their own.

We are very lucky to have a garden, which we use all year round. The children learn about the Seasons and how Nature changes our environment. We grow many things including vegetables and flowers. We are actively involved in composting and recycling.

Come and visit our small and friendly nursery up on the hill.

Here is some of what we have been doing...

Recent projects

Weather

We have been learning songs about the weather and also drawing pictures that represent hot and cold. See our pictures or listen to our songs.

The three little pigs

We listen to stories and even act them out. Watch our film.

Doing it on our own

In Nursery, we have to do lots of things for ourselves. We put on our coats; we recognise our name tags; we wash our hands; we label our drinks. See our film.
