Year 5
A word from Ms Padel
Year 5 is a very rewarding year to teach. The children are ready for the challenges we provide for them as they continue to develop in maturity and independence.
We aim to stimulate their enthusiasm through our study of a range of fascinating topics, which this year have included Ancient and Modern China, Life in Victorian times and the Earth, Sun and Moon. We arrange exciting trips to enhance the learning; this year we're off to the Ragged School to take part in a Victorian lesson.
We're a very cultured bunch: not only have we been to an opera at Covent Garden, but we're about to hear the LPO at the Festival Hall! Indigo class green team members are taking a lead role in the composting of fruit and vegetable waste in the school, and are helping younger children to get involved by emptying their class caddies.

The Iron Man by Ted Hughes
